Bayern Munich makes major signings to improve their dominance.

Bayern Munich are the best team in Europe at the moment without any question. Their dominance is undeniable and their treble-winning season of 2019-2020 cemented their legacy. Now after the transfer window is over let’s have a look at all the players they brought in to make their squad even more strong.

The German powerhouse brought in six new players to the Allianz arena while offloading four. Thiago Alcantara is the only player that they sold while the rest are off on loan. The Munich side sold the Spanish player for 30 million pounds which is quite a good deal on their part, but they must now show that they can continue their dominance without the star midfielder.

They brought in most notably, Leroy Sane from Manchester City for a nominal fee of 44.5 million euros. The deal was done last season but he could only join after the end of the season. Sane is an immensely talented young winger who decided to join the German giants in order to get more playtime. He has made an instant impact in the club by contributing one goal and two assists in Bayern’s demolition of Schalke in the first game of their season. The 24-year-old was wasted at City and his arrival at Bayern Munich only means more problems for other clubs as he will add to the already impressive trio of Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman.

They also brought in Eric Choupo-Moting and Alexander Nubel for free from Paris Saint-Germain and Schalke respectively. Moting was brought to their attention after his good run in the UEFA Champions League last season where his goal against Atalanta allowed the French side to proceed further. He is going to be a replacement for Lewandowski and will probably be more of an impact sub rather than a first-team player. Nubel is a young goalkeeper who is believed to eventually replace Manuel Neuer, however, last season the German number one really redeemed himself and in the finals of the Champions League against PSG he made many crucial saves to make sure that his team won. Thus it’s going to be tough for Nubel to play many matches.

They also brought in Marc Roca from Espanyol for an extremely low fee of 10 million euros. The 23-year-old is supposed to be the replacement for Thiago who used to play an important part in the team by controlling the midfield. Roca has the ability to emulate Thiago’s work but will have to get used to the team’s synergy first. He will look to be a regular with the German side as they wanted him last season as well but were turned off due to his high valuation.

Last but not the least, the Champions League winners also bought Bouna Sarr from Olympique de Marseille and brought back Douglas Costa from Juventus on a loan. Sarr was a second choice for the team as they originally wanted to bring in Sergino Dest from Ajax but he chose to join Barcelona instead. They also had plans of hijacking Callum Hudson Odoi from Chelsea but the English winger chose to stay at the London side and fight for his place.

Bayern’s new signings undoubtedly makes them one of the scariest sides of Europe. They are fully expected to dominate the league and protect their Champions League trophy as well. They got off to a good start but a 4-1 loss to Hoffenheim dented their plans. However, they are expected to overcome this, and with the immense talent within their squad, it is going to be really tough for other teams to even pose a challenge to the Bavarians.
