Liverpool secured Bayern Munich superstar, Thiago Alcantara, for a bargain price of 20 million pounds.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy thinks that Thiago Alcantara has been an absolute steal for the Reds. He thinks that Jurgen Klopp deserves a medal for landing such a world-class player, at the peak of his career for just 20 million pounds. The former Barcelona midfielder joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich after winning the treble with Hansi Flick.

Thiago will solve all the problems that deal with creativity and passing in Liverpool’s midfield. The Reds have a self-sustaining and self-creating front three hence they do not require their midfielders to create much chances, thus the current midfielders were not the best creativity wise compared to the other midfielders in the league. However, Thiago for 20 million is an absolute steal as his gameplay solves these problems in midfield. With his addition, the Liverpool squad looks even more perfectly balanced and ready to compete for both Premier League and the Champions League.

The former La Masia graduate, however, is extremely injury prone as he missed multiple matches in his last season with the Bayern side, however, his quality is undeniable. When he does play he delivers on every match. He perfectly delivered for Bayern in that number 6 role over the years and he was an absolute steal from Barcelona, whom he left due to struggling to compete against the likes of Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, and Andres Iniesta. However, his move to the Bavarian giants was a huge success and he has made a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.

Former Reds midfielder Murphy looks to be extremely thrilled as Jurgen Klopp landed such a world-class midfielder. Rumors about his transfer to Anfield were around throughout the window and it was only till the last moment that he made the move to Merseyside. He played one half-match against Chelsea and he already broke the record for most passes in a single half in Premier League history. He is currently out due to health issues, as he was tested positive for the coronavirus but it looks like he is recovering well and will be back to join Klopp in no time. Liverpool faces Everton next in the Premier League for the Merseyside derby, which should be an epic clash as Carlo Ancelotti’s men are in top form this season.
