No January signings planned by La Liga champions, Real Madrid.
The Real Madrid squad did not see any incoming players this summer as they had spent a lot on the previous season’s transfer window securing the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, and Rodrygo. They look forward to implementing the same strategy as they continue to adapt to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With the fans not been allowed to the stands yet, Los Blancos have decided to play their matches on their second stadium, Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. Los Blancos have decided to not move to Santiago Bernabeu until fans are allowed into the stadiums.
The speculated decrease in finances reported by Marca is around 200 million euros, as a consequence to which another barren transfer window is dawning. Manager Zinedine Zidane looks forward to competing for as many titles as possible with the available squad options. With no signings imminent, it doesn’t seem likely that he will let go of players who aren’t in his plans like Mariano Diaz and Isco.
There is certainly a visible requirement to bolster the squad depth no doubt, but the directors and the gaffer have shown trust in their squad and look forward to making the most of it. The Board does not want to make any unnecessary expenditures; although being open to required arrivals. Coaches are also aware that any negotiation must be considered by the situation and with a view to next season, and with Kylian Mbappe reportedly interesting in a summer move to La Liga, Real could potentially save up for the much-awaited transfer.
The 2019-20 season saw the players give up a huge chunk of their wages and bonuses due to the ongoing pandemic. Around 65 million euros have been relaxed from the wage bill. The leaders in the squad and management have agreed to take pay cuts; which does not compromise the stability of the economic situation.
As for the new budget, it will be approved by the assembly of committed members. The possibility of conducting a telematic assembly meeting is being discussed which will certainly avoid the risks of a face-to-face meeting during such difficult times.
