Real Madrid shows concern regarding their youngster in Borussia Dortmund.
The Real Madrid board are unhappy about Reinier Jesus’s playing time at Borussia Dortmund so far.
The player has been limited to only seven appearances off the bench this season for a combined total of 105 minutes. He has yet to score a goal or provide an assist this season. Local outlet Diario AS claims that the Spanish giants are surprised by the lack of playing time he has received, and expected him to make steady progress at Dortmund.
Reportedly, Reinier expected to play more minutes for the club, and if his situation does not change by January, he could look for an alternative solution, which may result in the early cancellation of his loan deal.
Achraf Hakimi previously enjoyed a successful 2-year loan spell at Die Borussen which saw him start almost every game towards the end of last season. He was a pivotal part of Borussia Dortmund’s build-up play, and he shared a successful partnership with Jadon Sancho on the right-hand side of the field.
Perhaps Reinier was expecting the same kind of treatment, but he has not made a good case for himself so far, as he did not have a great showing in the few minutes that he played under Lucien Favre. Unfortunately, he was nursing an injury when he joined the club which prevented him from getting fully integrated into the squad.
It also does not help that Dortmund have a plethora of attacking talents such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, and youngster Giovanni Reyna. All of those players are currently ahead of him in the pecking order, and the Brazilian will have to show in training and on the pitch that he deserves more playing time.
