Young Manchester United star Ethan Galbraith hailed by Northern Ireland manager.
Manchester United U-23’s star midfielder, Ethan Galbraith, has been compared to the likes of Iniesta and Xavi by his national team coach, Ian Baraclough.
The youngster is already making waves at club level, having nailed down a spot in the starting XI, scoring important goals. He has recently extended his commitment to the Red Devils with a new contract keeping him at Old Trafford until 2023.
The prodigal 19-year old has now been called up to his country’s senior squad for the upcoming EURO qualifier against Slovakia next week after his impressive performances at the youth level. He has been backed by his coach to become a future global superstar.
Ethan, over the last six months, we’ve seen a maturity in his play and the way he goes about his work day to day,” Baraclough said.
“Not to put too much pressure on his shoulders, but he’s our little Iniesta or Xavi, someone who can get on the ball and manipulate the ball and find positive passes. Over the coming years, he will give us a different flavor to the squad.”
The Northern Irishman made his senior debut for Manchester United in a Europa League game against Astana in 2019 and his senior debut for the national squad in the same year in a friendly against Luxemburg, which they won 1-0.
Massive things are expected from the young man, but only time will tell if he’s able to thrive in that pressure and perform at the highest level playing for club and country. United have multiple youngsters looking to make their mark on World Football but Galbraith has multiple great youngsters to take inspiration from at Old Trafford. While Solskjaer continues to lead the struggling United side, many believe that Mauricio Pochettino might take over soon, which might mean Galbraith will have to prove himself to another manager to continue his development.
