Real Madrid prospect loaned to AC Milan heading towards a permanent deal.
The Spaniard is currently on a season-long loan from Real Madrid, and an option to sign him for good is not part of the deal. According to the report, it is understood that Milan will go into negotiations with the La Liga champions on the possibility of making the loan deal a permanent one.
Diaz has been in good form for Milan netting three goals in eight games across all competitions this season. He began the season with AC Milan as a regular starter but has only played 40 minutes over the last four games for the club. The player himself is very keen to extend the stay rather than trying to compete for a place in Zinedine Zidane‘s side which is stacked with superstars and young talent alike. He feels that he would get more playing time staying at the Italian club rather than trying his luck with the Spanish giants.
The report also states that Los Blancos would be willing to negotiate a possible transfer but would demand in excess of 25 million euros even though according to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 14 million euros.
Milan seem to be returning to their glory days after quite a gap, having started off the season in scintillating fashion. They currently sit on top of the table in Serie A with 17 points off their seven games. They are hoping to challenge for the title and break Juventus‘ strong grip over the Serie A, who have won the title for a whopping consecutive nine seasons. The positive direction in which the Rossoneri are headed also may have played a big factor in Diaz wanting to stay with them and make the deal permanent.
It remains to be seen where this transfer saga will be headed over the course of the coming few weeks and months, although Milan are expected to seal the permanent transfer of the highly-rated youngster.
