Paris Saint-Germain are keen on securing former Tottenham midfielder.

Paris Saint-Germain are sitting at the top of Ligue 1 with 24 points from 10 games. However, their form in the UEFA Champions League has been quite poor. The French giants have lost two of the first three games in the Champions League and might head for a group stage exit. Thomas Tuchel will be looking to strengthen his side in the upcoming transfer window. According to reports in France, PSG are interested in former Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Christian Eriksen. The Denmark international moved to Inter Milan for a transfer fee of 20 million euros and the playmaker is a chief transfer target for the current Ligue 1 champions.

Eriksen will be an excellent addition to any side given his playmaking skills and years of experience with top clubs across Europe. The midfielder was linked with a move to Manchester United before making his move to the Serie A side. Eriksen is natural number 10 but he played as a wide midfielder in the 16/17 season and Spurs finished 2nd in the league. Tuchel can play 4-2-3-1 with a double pivot of Marco Verratti and Marquinhos with Eriksen as the attacking midfielder. Neymar and Angel di Maria can play as the wide midfielders with Kylian Mbappe as the number 9.

PSG mostly plays with the 4-2-4 formation in Ligue 1 and Eriksen can be given the wider role and it will bring creativity to the side and the midfielder can feed Mbappe and Mauro Icardi. Eriksen’s addition will increase the squad strength especially with PSG having to suffer many times in the past due to injury issues. The 28-year-old midfielder has not been great this season and he has not registered a single goal or assist in the first 7 games this year, but many blame this on Inter’s way of playing and not Eriksen’s inabilities.

The French champions may get their player in the winter transfer window if a sufficient bid is made and the Danish midfielder will improve PSG’s performances in this year’s Champions League and will be crucial against deep block teams. Meanwhile, Eriksen is also being offered to rejoin Spurs next year as Inter are reportedly keen on selling the star.
