The Paris Saint-Germain star is ready to renew his contract at Paris.

Argentina international Angel Di Maria has revealed his wish to retire at Paris Saint-Germain, reports GoalBut he also said that the decision is not completely up to him. Although he would like to retire at PSG, it depends upon whether the management offers him a renewal or not.

Di Maria returned to the PSG domestic side in some style on Saturday, scoring twice and crafting another goal for new signing Moise Kean. The French champions defeated Rennes in a 3-0 win where Di Maria had his first appearance after serving a four-match ban after spitting on Alvaro Gonzalez of Marseille in a tempered clash on 28 September.

Di Maria has been a journeyman and has represented some elite clubs in his coveted career. Playing for Benfica, Real Madrid as well as Manchester United previously, he feels home in Paris.

I want to end my European career here, but it’s not only up to me,” Di Maria told Canal+.

The winger’s contract ends in 2021 and he has been trying his best to earn a new contract.

It’s good. I am happy about it. It’s a club where there is a lot of affection towards me. I am doing my best.”

PSG haven’t been in the best of forms with the position of coach Thomas Tuchel under scrutiny and star player Kylian Mbappe declining contract renewal talks. Tuchel led them to the Champions League final last season and lost in a narrow 1-0 loss to Bayern Munchen. The squad backs Tuchel to stay and think that time-to-time changing of coaches isn’t helping at all.

The Ligue 1 side tumbled to a group stage loss in the Champions League to RB Leipzig. The fresh loss and lack of form in the premier competition have got the team under a big question. Especially the media and press, they have been criticizing choices of team selection of Tuchel. Especially Marquinhos, who has been rotated from midfield to defense regularly.
