Paris Saint-Germain should pick N’Golo Kante over Lionel Messi.
Eric Rabesandratana, a retired French international football player has stated that Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain should look into landing N’golo Kante in the January transfer window of 2021 and not go after want-away superstar Lionel Messi. Multiple reports have suggested that the French giants are after the Argentine as the 33-year-old’s contract is up in the summer of 2021. Hence, the retired Frenchman thinks that the former Leicester City midfielder will be a very good fit at the Parc Des Princes over the Argentine.
Lionel Messi had handed in a transfer request for a move away from the Nou Camp in the summer of 2020, however, due to legal complications, the Argentine decided to change his mind and continue at the club. Since then, the 33-year-old playmaker has been heavily linked to Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain and Josep Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. He is most likely to join the citizens as Pep Guardiola just signed a new deal with the Blues a couple of days ago.
This will mean that Guardiola will be staying at the Manchester side for a total of 7 years which will be the highest amount of time he’s ever been at a single club. This time period beats his time at FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich where he was a coach for four years each. This will be a huge plus point for Messi to be attracted to moving to the City of Manchester Stadium.
Hence, retired French international Eric Rabesandratana thinks that PSG should focus on securing N’golo Kante instead.
I would like to say that if I were a leader at PSG I would break the bank to sign N’Golo Kante, He was still huge yesterday. Kante is the player who would allow PSG to win the Champions League. We do not need Messi or anyone else.” Eric speaking to radio station France Bleu.
The Frenchman was linked out of Chelsea as he did not look like he was going to be a part of Frank Lampard’s squad. He looked like he was going to be sold in the 2020 summer transfer window, however, the central midfielder decided to stick around and get some game time. A move for Kante might help him revive his career as he was not exactly in his best form after winning two continuous titles with Leicester City and Chelsea respectively. The first-ever premier league player to achieve back to back titles.
Hence, a move for the Frenchman to the Ligue 1 and to play for the best team in France does not seem like the worst of ideas.
