PSG willing to sell Neymar in order to provide a better contract to Mbappe.

Paris Saint-Germain are undoubtedly the most star-studded team in all of Europe. The French club is practically owned by the oil-rich country of Qatar and this allowed them to make outrageous signings such as the 222 million euros deal for Neymar from Barcelona. They also managed to sign Kylian Mbappe for 180 million euros which made him the most expensive teenager and the second-largest transfer. These transfers, however, could not manage to bring PSG their much-desired European glory and now they are willing to let go of one of their top players in order to keep the youngster superstar.

With 2022 approaching, both Neymar and Mbappe are running out of time in their existing contracts. The world’s most expensive player and the second on the list are both on a ludicrous amount of money currently and they both expect the same amount if not higher in their new contracts. The Brazilian winger at the moment earns 600,000 pounds a week while the French winger earns close to 375,000 pounds per week. These enormous contracts are hard to maintain even for a club like PSG and they have come to the conclusion that they must let go of one of these stars in order to keep the other.

Unfortunately for Neymar, PSG are probably going to let go of him if they cannot afford both of them. According to Mirror via L’Equipe, the French champions will continue to back the younger talent by letting go of Neymar. Mbappe at the moment is garnering a lot of attention from elite clubs such as Real Madrid and the Spanish champions could go for the player as Eden Hazard is yet to fit into the club. In order to keep away Zidane’s prying eyes, PSG will likely offer a very lucrative offer to the 2018 World Cup winner.

While Neymar is also a very important asset for the kings of France, Mbappe has proven to be more lethal and useful on the pitch. There is also a seven years age difference between the two players and it makes a lot of sense to keep the younger player as he will go on to be a bigger and better investment for the club. Should Neymar be let go off, the Brazilian should have no problem in getting offers from other clubs as he is one of the best footballers in the world but only a very few could afford him.
