Inter Milan set sights on Lautaro Martinez renewal.
Inter Milan have been taking swift actions to renew important forward Lautaro Martinez’s contract that would see him stay till 2025. Inter think of him as someone who is important to both the future and present. As per reports from InterNews, the Inter Milan management held out against Barcelona in the summer demanding either 111 million euros or Lautaro can’t be touched.
Lautaro is only 23 years old and has massive room for improvement. Not only Barcelona, but other big clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on him. The Argentine earns 2.2 million euros as per his current contract. A renewed contract will see him earning a double of almost 5 million along with bonuses per annum.
Nicknamed El Toro by the natives, he is happy at Inter and is doing well off in Milan. That’s why mid-December could be an important time when the parties had agreed to meet to discuss and analyze the contract issue.
There were several strong rumors in the recently concluded transfer window but it seems none of them took place. Citizens boss Pep Guardiola has said that he believes Lautaro to be the perfect heir to fellow Argentinian Kun Aguero. City are maintaining close eyes on him and would like him to not renew his contract.
Martinez has been Antonio Conte’s go-to striker in his preferred two-man upfront. His linkup and goalscoring prowess alongside Romelu Lukaku has been sensational. Although despite the rumors both parties involved in the contract renewal are more than agreeing on common ground. The striker’s agents think it is best for him to stay and improve at Inter.
One for the future, the upcoming transfer window will certainly reveal whether he is inclined on departing; or what unfolds shall he decide to renew his contract.
