Manchester City boss confirms there will be no January signings.
Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City have often taken the transfer market by storm on multiple occasions. They’re heavy spenders in almost each and every window and it is common knowledge for every other rival that Manchester City will be a threat to their targets too. However, according to Goal, surprisingly the Centurions will not be looking to spend big or buy any players at all in the upcoming January Transfer Window of 2020.
City signed young Ferran Torres from Valencia in the 2020 summer transfer window. The young Spanish winger followed the steps of David Silva who also arrived at the City of Manchester Stadium from Valencia in 2010 after winning the world cup. The 20-year-old even received David Silva’s iconic 21 jersey number in the Manchester squad. Guardiola also landed a solid centre-back, that is 23-year-old Ruben Dias who has been absolutely rock solid at the back for the Premier League giants.
The Citizens also landed Dutch international Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, who also has been a solid player so far for Pep. With Eric Garcia potentially leaving soon for the Nou Camp, City’s defense partnership looks solid as Dias and Laporte have made the most important pair and John Stones and Ake have formed another alternate one for cup ties and UEFA Champions League group stages so far. Joao Cancelo is also looking like a new signing with his fantastic performances so far.
Manchester City beat Burnley 5-0 in their latest Premier League fixture as the Centurions look to get back on the horse and back into the title race. However, they will not be bringing any reinforcements in the January transfer window. Guardiola looks to be satisfied with the team he currently has and he will be looking to build another title-winning team as he has signed another 2-year contract extension with the Manchester side just a week ago.
