Rising star at Liverpool left Wolves last season but fans are not disappointed.
Wolves beat Arsenal in an away match for the first time in more than four decades, winning 2-1 on Sunday in the Premier League.
However, the game was overshadowed by a serious head injury to Wolves forward Raul Jimenez. Jiminez suffered a fracture in his skull and looks set to be out for a long time.
Yesterday however was a match to remember a certain 20-year-old from Portugal, Pedro Neto. He put in a man of the match display last night earning them a much-deserved victory at the Emirates.
Neto opened the scoring for Wolves in the first half pouncing onto a loose ball inside the Arsenal box to fire home, Gabriel, however, equalized for Arsenal soon after.
Wolves got the lead back through Daniel Podence who scored the goal after leno wasn’t able to save Neto’s shot.
Neto has been the man tasked to replace the Diogo Jota following his 45 million pounds move to Liverpool and so far he hasn’t disappointed.
He has found the net three times this season, also creating two goals in the process. He also has the highest number of key passes for a Wolverhampton player this season with eighteen.
The 20-year-old is now earning huge praise from Wolves fans, with many claiming that he is already better than Liverpool’s current topscorer Diogo Jota.
Jota has been one of the most in-form players in the league right now, scoring nine goals in fourteen games already. He also has a Champions League hattrick to his name this season but Wolves fans still think Pedro is the better fit for the job and has the potential to surpass the 23-year-old Portuguese.
While some fans think that he will prove to be better than Jota in the coming years, claiming it’s ‘not even a debate’ whether Wolves made the right choice or not.
Only time will tell whether it was the right choice or not, but currently, both players are in the form of their life and will hope that it continues.
