Bayern Munich line up reinforcements.
According to SPORT BILD, Bayern Munich management are already working on their backup team for the 2021/22 season. Their latest targets include the hot prospect duo of Florian Neuhaus and Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach. Neuhaus has been in excellent form for both club and country this term. While Zakaria has made inroads as a starter again after overcoming a long injury, both are currently on the radar of some elite clubs of the world.
The current contract of Neuhaus runs till 2024, but he is available for a rather meagre price of around lower to 40 million euros. The fact that the Bavarian native has just made the leap into the national team makes him all the more interesting for the Munich team. Above all, Bayern coach, Hansi Flick, is a big supporter of the transfer. Teammate Zakaria has also been linked to the Bavarians although there are many more teams running for his sign; like both the Manchester clubs.
Neuhaus has also played previously for the local club, 1860 Munchen. Bayern failed to sign their desired targets in Havertz this summer and look to make amends. Neuhaus faces stiff competition in the midfield which is stacked with the talents of Goretzka, Kimmich, and others. While Corentin Tolisso has been linked to a move away from Allianz Arena; the management thinks of him as a suitable replacement.
Its been a difficult season so far for Switzerland international, Denis Zakaria. The rock-solid defensive midfielder has battled with injuries. This has meant only two appearances in the Bundesliga and no Champions League action. However, despite his tough time with injuries, he is still held in high regard by Bayern Munich.
His ability to read the game as well as his athleticism and quality on the ball has made him one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. The Swiss international is reaching the peak of his performances and certainly would bring further steel to an already strong midfield.
His arrival could also allow Kimmich to return to right back. Again like Neuhaus, Gladbach would command a significant fee for their prized asset.
