Manchester City eye Barcelona’s key target for transfer

Manchester City have been looking for a perfect replacement for club legend, Sergio Aguero for quite a while now. While Gabriel Jesus can be at the club and be the Argentine’s permanent replacement, the two are extremely different players. Hence, the Premier League giants are eyeing Inter Milan forward, Lautaro Martinez.

Lautaro Martinez has been an immense asset for Inter Milan over the last couple of years. Multiple top tiers and trusted sources now suggest that the Argentine has told Antonio Conte that he will be needing a pay rise to at least 100,000 euros a week in order to convince him to even think about a long term stay at the Serie A club.

The young Argentine center forward can be the ideal replacement for Sergio Aguero as their gameplay is very similar. Lautaro Martinez almost plays exactly like the 2010 Sergio Aguero over at Atletico Madrid which can only be an ideal scenario for Manchester City where they get almost an identical replacement for one of their club legends.

So far they have failed to properly replace the likes of David Silva and Vincent Kompany. Although the Sky Blues have Phil Foden and Portuguese defender, Ruben Dias now as the replacements, nothing is certain yet as both of them are very young.

As for Lautaro Martinez, he has been very heavily linked to Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona as a potential and solid replacement for Luis Suarez. However, due to the current financial problems over at the Nou Camp, where the Blaugrana are having to sell players and even let them go for free to fund other transfers and players’ wages, a big-money move for Lautaro Martinez does not seem very realistic at this point. Manchester City on the other hand are more than capable of funding a transfer and paying the wages of the young Argentine.
