Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes named Premier League POTM.

Bruno Fernandes has bagged yet another Premier League POTM award, his third in 11 months, for his excellent performances in the month of November for Manchester United. He is now only one short of Portuguese compatriot and club legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, who also signed from Sporting CP and took the Premier League by storm with his dazzling football.

The Portuguese midfielder was handed the award on Friday at United’s Carrington training ground, as the club prepared to face local rivals and noisy neighbors, Manchester City.

Fernandes, signed for a fee reportedly worth up to €80 million (£67.6 million) including bonuses, has looked the real deal ever since he joined the club in January 2020. His constant desire to be on the ball to create chances for others, vision, quality, and his work rate made him an instant favorite with the fans as he has almost single-handedly fired the Red Devils to a top 4 finish in the 2019-20 campaign.

Old Trafford’s newest sweetheart has been firing on all cylinders since day 1, having already notched up 23 goals and 14 assists in just the 39 appearances for his new club. If there’s a goal been scored by Man Utd these days, chances are Bruno Fernandes is involved.

The 26-year old has cemented his place in Ole’s starting XI, delivering game after game. His ability with the ball is unquestionably spectacular, drawing praise from opposition fans and critics alike, with people drawing direct comparisons of his style of play with Man City’s midfield maestro, Kevin De Bruyne.

Despite being called a penalty merchant, he has scored eight non-penalty league goals since making his debut, more than any other PL midfielder in that period.

During the month, Fernandes registered four goals for Manchester United from as many matches, topping a six-man shortlist that also included Ben Chilwell, Jack Grealish, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Angelo Ogbonna, and James Ward-Prowse, to win the coveted PL accolade. The Portuguese clearly makes United click, as he yet again showed in their 3-1 comeback win against Everton with his two goals and an assist.
