Paris Saint-Germain attempt to sign Dele Alli.

Reports from BBC suggest that Paris Saint-Germain are about to launch another bid in their pursuit of Dele Alli. The French club tried to sign Alli, 24, in the summer but Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy refused to agree to a deal. Dele has started only one game this season for the Spurs as he was left as an unused substitute again by Jose Mourinho. In the Europa League game against Royal Antwerp, he was expecting to get some minutes but alas.

He has not been in a Premier League matchday squad since the 6-1 win at Manchester United on 4 October. According to Jose, it is impossible to keep every player happy and as we know about his approach in the game, Dele might have to move out. Dele is only 24 and has amassed 230 appearances for the Spurs already. He would be hoping to make his way back into the squad, but ultimately it depends on Mourinho and the injury list.

Mourinho said of the incident:

Let’s not run away from the reality, a player on the bench who realises with five changes he is not one of them, of course he is not a happy player and I wouldn’t expect him to be.

But every player who is on the bench, or leaves the pitch in cold weather with me, they can go to the dressing room and I even prefer if that happened.

PSG are most likely to offer an 18-month loan offer for Alli, as they themselves face uncertain futures over Neymar and Mbappe. The French giants were rebuffed many times earlier this year by Spurs who were not yet ready to ax Alli, but his worsening situation in North London has increased hopes at the Parc des Princes that signing Alli is now a real possibility.

Whatever the situation may be, Dele deserves playing time at a top team is what we all can agree on. From someone who has been deemed a world-class talent; it won’t be tough for him to find his magic boots back.
