Premier League giants chasing Erling Haaland

Manchester United and Manchester City faced each other a few days ago in one of the biggest fixtures of English football and shared points between them playing out an underwhelming 0-0 draw. The neutrals weren’t impressed and neither were the fans.

Now it’s time for them to lock horns again, but this time off the field, as they are reportedly going head to head to capture the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s goal machine, Erling Braut Haaland.

The Norwegian striker would come at a high price if he decides to move clubs during the summer of 2021 because his release clause of 65m only gets activated during the summer of 2022. Borussia Dortmund might see it as an opportunity to get big money for the striker and decide to sell him in the coming summer itself.

The star striker boasts a freakish goal scoring record after scoring 23 goals in 23 league appearances for the German side. His Champions League record is even better after having scored 16 goals in just 12 games.

With aging striker Sergio Aguero’s contract coming to an end in the upcoming summer, and City with no plans of renewal now, we can see why Haaland would be very high up in City’s priority list for the summer transfer window. This would be a fairytale story considering Haaland’s father has also spent 3 seasons at the Manchester club.

Even though United’s primary target for the next transfer window would be Jadon Sancho, they would still like to kept updated about the availability of the striker. He’s hugely admired by his fellow countryman Ole Gunnar Solskjær, who would definitely want him to don the Manchester United jersey in the near future.

Apart from the Manchester clubs, it is also being reported that the Spanish outfits, Real Madrid, are interested in signing Erling Braut Haaland.
