Real Madrid coach also admits to a lack of minutes for Isco.
Real Madrid playmaker, Isco could be on his way out of Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window, according to Spanish outlet, Sport.
The 28-year-old has now failed to get a single minute of football in the last three games. His last start for Los Blancos came on November 8 against Valencia. It’s not rocket science to understand that Zinedine Zidane clearly prefers others over Isco. The manager has himself admitted that he is finding it difficult to hand Isco more chances this season.
Zidane addressed the issue in a recent press conference, saying :
“Isco is going to be an important player, It is true that he is not playing much and I am not giving him the opportunity to show the player that he is. He has to work hard to get another chance’’
Isco has only played 319 minutes this season, Zidane has preferred the likes of Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, and Fede Valverde ahead of him. His career at Real Madrid is heading towards a dead end and he thinks it’s better to end his chapter at the Spanish capital and start a new journey.
The Spaniard feels that consistency in match appearances is required in order to be fit and sharp for the Euro 2021 and wants to move to a new club this winter.
Isco is a key cog in Luis Enrique’s national Spain squad and he needs to be in good shape and form before the prestigious Euro tournament in June. With a January exit touted, Everton can pounce on the 28-year-old. The player has been linked to the Toffees and a number of other clubs which include Manchester City and Juventus.
It won’t be easy for the player who has made over two hundred appearances for the club as he earns six million euros per year. Many clubs won’t be able to afford his salary and that might prove to be a stumbling block.
