Atletico Madrid are in danger of losing their star player to two Italian sides.

There is no doubt that Joao Felix is a very talented player who can become one of the best in a year or two. The Portuguese has already scored five goals and provided three assists this season in the La Liga however, he could never maintain a steady relationship with his manager, Diego Simeone. After his public display of frustration after the Madrid derby, many pundits and media outlets are speculating his possible exit from Atletico Madrid.

The 21-year-old forward joined the Spanish giants in 2019 for a whopping fee of 113 million euros. After a brilliant season with Benfica where he scored 20 goals and provided 11 assists, every elite club was trying to get their hands on him. Atletico got him in the end after the sale of Antoine Griezman to Barcelona. Unfortunately, however, the player is yet to imitate his performance in Benfica in the La Liga. He has been an average player so far, with a few stellar performances.

According to Calciomercato, his relationship with Simeone has not improved and has rather degraded over the months. The Italian website also declared that it would not be surprising to see a club like Juventus or Inter Milan try for the player as both the clubs adore the player and have been scouting him for a while.

In the Madrid derby, Felix’s disappointment could almost be felt as he was very animated and kicked about after being substituted. He is the club’s top scorer so taking him off at a time when they needed goals was a bit questionable. Thus, we must wonder why Simeone made the decision and if something is going on behind the scenes.

Juventus and Inter Milan will both happily take the young player off of Atletico’s hand and although they do not have 100 million euros to pay for the superstar, they can put Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez respectively in a swap deal.
