Barcelona could confirm the Mbappe deal to Real Madrid if they pull off the win.

It is well known the Kylian Mbappe has his eyes set on the Ballon d’Or. The youngster wants to be the very best in the game but to be the best, one must beat the best. That is why when the French international failed to lift up the UEFA Champions League last season, he was in tears. The Champions League is the most prestigious trophy in club football and Mbappe has his eyes set on it, if Paris Saint-Germain cannot help him win that, he will gladly go to a club, like Real Madrid, that will.

Here comes in Real Madrid and Barcelona. The Madrid side has publicly shown their desire to bring Mbappe to their club and with the player running out of his contract soon, it is the perfect timing. The 22-year-old runs out of contract in 2022 but is yet to extend it. He wants a team which will give him a chance to win the Champions League as well as give him financial security, and what better club than Real Madrid could provide both?

The match against Barcelona is crucial. Although PSG are the favorites, the Catalans are a pretty strong side and the French Champions must be on their best to take the victory. Mbappe will be expecting to win the whole tournament this season so an exit in the round of 16 would really hamper the ongoing negotiations. The 2018 World Cup winner cannot take another disappointment and could try his luck in some other club.

Zinedine Zidane will also play a big factor in the transfer as Mbappe idolizes the Madrid coach and would definitely want to learn under his guidance. Madrid will also benefit a lot from this transfer as their previous big-money transfer, Eden Hazard, was a complete failure and they need to recover from that setback. Thus Barcelona winning could unwittingly help out their arch-rivals.
