Juventus evaluating swapping Cristiano Ronaldo for Neymar.
Cristiano Ronaldo left his legendary status at the Santiago Bernabeu towards the end of the 2017/18 season after winning a third UEFA champions league in a row under former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane. The 35-year-old joined Juventus at that point for a fee of 105 million euros. The forward has done extremely well at Juventus so far, in the league especially where he has shattered many personal, club, and league records individually. In his two years so far in Turin, he’s won both the leagues. Reports now suggest that an exchange deal between him and Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar Jr may take place soon.
The Portuguese failed to win the UEFA Champions League so far with Juventus which has led to him receiving a lot of criticism from fans and the media. However, Ronaldo does not seem bothered as he thrives off of such criticism only to become a better footballer.
As for the exchange deal, Cristiano’s deal with Juventus ends in 2022 and many sources of Europe are reporting a deal which will see Neymar Jr exit Paris Saint-Germain and join Juventus and the Portuguese will be going to the Parc des Princes to see out his European top-flight career.
Ronaldo is certainly in search of another Champions League victory as it is considered his best stage given his career accolades. Staying at Juventus, that goal does not seem so sure, however, with the arrival of Mauricio Pochhetino who led Tottenham Hotspur to a UEFA Champions League final in 2018/19 season is now the new coach of PSG. A move for Cristiano to the Parc des Princes in search of another champions league will not be the worst idea, given the fact that the club has not won one in their entire history. This can be a pretty smooth win-win situation for both the club and Ronaldo.
