David Alaba increases wage demand from Real Madrid for a move

Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid have been heavily interested in landing Bayern Munich defender, David Alaba for quite some time now. The Los Blancos were hoping to complete the deal during the current ongoing January transfer window but it looks like the teams have hit a snag. David Alaba is reportedly demanding a huge amount of wage which has raised a form of concern over at the Santiago Bernabeu.

David Alaba’s contract with the German champions is over at the end of the upcoming summer transfer window of 2021. Hence, the Austrian is free to negotiate with other teams if the player is eventually set to depart from the Allianz Arena. Multiple top tier trusted sources of Europe are reporting that Bayern Munich and David Alaba are definitely set to depart ways and the left center-back will be leaving the club in the summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona were favorites to land the Austrian, however, Barcelona pulled out of the race as they cannot reportedly afford his high wages given the current ongoing financial problems over at the Nou Camp. However, it is a problem for Real Madrid too as they consider the wages to be high for the Bayern Munich man.

According to multiple reports, the wages that David Alaba is demanding for this potential move, are even higher than what Sergio Ramos earns weekly over at the Santiago Bernabeu. Obviously, the treble winning defender will be a fantastic addition to this Real Madrid squad but as of now, the Los Blancos are considering this situation carefully and are having second thoughts due to the high wage demands. Ramos is literally a club legend, still serving the club, for a very long time now. Whereas a newcomer like Alaba receiving more wages than that of a club leader will not exactly look good on the Madrid infrastructure and how things work.

Zidane will have to make a decision soon though for this potential signing because the January transfer window is heading towards its end.
