AC Milan are trying to bring in Chelsea defender on a loan deal with an option to buy.

According to reports from Goal, Italian giants, AC Milan are trying to bring in out of favor Chelsea center-back on a loan. Fikayo Tomori who had a decent season last time, making 22 appearances in all competitions has struggled to get any game time this season. The youngster played quite a few games in Frank Lampard’s first season as the Blues’ boss, but he fell off towards the second half of the season. Since then, Lampard has shown a preference towards Kurt Zouma and Antonio Rudiger and after the introduction of Thiago Silva this season, Tomori has really fallen off the pecking list.

The 23-year-old defender started well last season but his inconsistency made Lampard choose otherwise. The Blues had a terrible season defensively and thus the former Chelsea player brought in Thiago SIlva from Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, Tomori has only appeared four times in all competitions and has only played 45 minutes in the Premier League this season. With Zouma and Silva cementing their positions in Lampard’s defense, many ask the question, what about the younger talent?

While Lampard says that Tomori’s move is only temporary, AC Milan are interested in buying him out if he does well in the San Siro. The Italian giants were like the sleeping beasts of Serie A and they have finally awoken. Milan are currently sitting on the top of the table after having played 18 games. They are 10 points above defenders, Juventus and it looks like finally the Old Lady will be dethroned as the King of Italy.

Both the Milan sides have brought in fresh air to the Italian league and there is finally a fight for the Scudetto. Milan needs to maintain their squad to win the league and they have been tracking down the Chelsea youngster for a long time. The deal is almost as good as done and Milan have also added a 25 million pounds option to buy him completely. For now, the loan will benefit both the player and the club but if the Chelsea academy graduate helps them lift the title for the first time in 10 years, they will surely keep him in the club for the foreseeable future.
