West Ham are now 5th in the Premier League table with a win against Aston Villa. Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has done an incredible job at the club and the Hammers have taken most points among the London clubs this season in the Premier League. West Ham won 1-3 away to Villa and Jesse Lingard scored a brace in his debut. Lingard completed his loan move from United this transfer window and scored two excellent goals to secure all three points for the club.
According to reports by Goal, Hammers boss David Moyes believes Jesse Lingard can get a recall at the England side. The Manchester United academy graduate has 24 caps for the England national team but he has not played for the three lions since 2019 and it may be hard getting into the 23-man squad ahead of Jack Grealish, James Maddison, and Mason Mount. Lingard has won the FA Cup, League cup, Europa League, and the Community Shield during his time at Old Trafford. The 28-year old scored winner against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final and it sealed the trophy for former boss Louis Van Gaal. Lingard was impressive in the 2016/17 season and scored an excellent solo goal against Leicester City in the Community Shield and gave a kick start to the Jose Mourinho era at Manchester United. The English midfielder also scored an important goal in the League cup final against the Saints.
David Moyes thinks the loan move will lead to England recall for Jesse
Lingard was a key player for the Red Devils from 2015-18 but his form dipped eventually. The loan move to West Ham may bring out the best in the player again and may help the London club get a European spot this season. Moyes believes that Jesse will gain confidence from his loan move and will get back to the national team squad and may also make the Euro 2021 squad.
