We have often seen Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos lock horns in what is called the biggest game in football, the El Clasico. Two of the most decorated players playing together is often considered just a hypothesis or something that is possible in charity matches only. But Ligue 1 champs Paris Saint-Germain are set out to make it a certainty claims Ramos.
Spanish sports media house El Chiringuito report that Sergio is certainly interested to share the pitch along with Lionel Messi on the same team. Often considered as one of the finest center backs to grace the game, he was regarded as a symbol of Madridismo; the same goes for Leo as well. Respective captains of Real Madrid and Barcelona, they have led their teams through rough and fair times alike but from what it seems, want a new adventure at a ripe age.
Ramos’ situation at Madrid is one we have seen before. Although the rumors this time around are pretty strong and from reliable sources as well. From what is an economically barren football season for the clubs, apparently, the wage demand by Ramos is unaffordable in such times. President Florentino Perez has certainly placed an offer on the table for him. But in a season marred by the pandemic, which has affected the scenario, a renewal seems to go further and further.
Sergio Ramos alongside Lionel Messi is a real possibility.
Messi’s intentions of leaving his boyhood club have been apparent for a long time and have ensured a lot of drama at the club as well. Earlier this season, Messi revealed his wish to leave the club following the club’s disappointing runs in premier competitions for some years. So much that even ex-President Josep Maria Bartomeu had to submit his resignation. An unfortunate series of events followed it up but ultimately the board convinced Messi to stay for a final run at the club. As he enters his final year at the club, it seems highly unlikely that Messi would like to stay for another tenure at Camp Nou.
Maybe the dream of many football fans of seeing these two heroes don the same colors will be coming true very soon.
