Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo recently just turned 36 years of age last Friday. With age, footballers usually slow down in all manners. The Portuguese national, on the other hand, is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. Many believe that if the 36-year-old continues to play like this, he will continue to play till he is 40 years of age. The former Real Madrid star is looking sharp as ever. After turning 30, most players usually slow down but if one takes a look at the statistics, the majority of his numbers were produced after he turned 30. He is aging like fine wine.
Ronaldo scored a goal to celebrate the occasion of his birthday last week, in Saturday’s blockbuster clash with AS Roma in Serie A. The former Manchester United winger scored the opener against AS Roma. The opening goal took his tally to a total of 23 goals in 24 games this season in all competitions. These numbers are simply outrageous for someone his age in top league football.
The 5 times Balon D’or winner took only 13 minutes to beat Roma’s Pau Lopez as he scored a left-footed goal. He scored his 16th goal in 17 Serie A games this season to take Juventus into 3rd place above Roma. The Old Lady does not look like they are going to be out of the title race anytime soon. It looks as if they are going to go all the way and fight till the end, for the title.
Cristiano Ronaldo is also the reason why Juventus have one foot in the Coppa Italia final. It is due to the number 7’s brace in a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan. The second leg however will not be so easy for the men in black and white. Juventus will look to turn things around for this season.
