Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United hosted Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton on Saturday night. The two sides went head to head in what looked like a comfortable victory for the Red Devils but resulted in a draw. The Premier League blockbuster ended in a crunch manner as the sides scored 3 goals each. The 3-3 draw between the two North West English sides saw a lot of drama. Manchester United failed to take the opportunity to go level on points with Manchester City, who travel to Anfield on Sunday. With high chances of a City loss against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, United fans feel that this was an opportunity to go closer to Pep Guardiola’s men.

The Red Devils looked comfortable as they were 2-0 up early on into the second half. A headed goal from Edinson Cavani and a world-class, long-range effort from Bruno Fernandes saw United go 2-0 up. However, Ancelotti had different plans as Doucoure and James Rodriguez pulled out two quick goals to make it 2-2. The 20 times PL Champions looked to win it again as Scott McTominay scored United’s third goal from a set-piece. Dominic Calvert Lewin on the other hand had different plans as a 94th-minute equalizer was scored by the Englishman to make it 3-3. A dramatic night came to an end as Guardiola’s team now sits 2 points clear at the top, with two games in hand.

Ole, surprisingly stated that Manchester United are not title contenders. Despite being so close to the top and being at the top for a while too. The fans are also rooting for the men in red to go on and win their 21st title. However, in the post-match conference, the former Cardiff City boss seems to feel otherwise. The Norwegian stated that Manchester United ”should not be considered” as title challengers. The manager seems to be happy with the distance he has come with this team.
