The arrival of Pep Guardiola in England earned him a lot of media heat. The Catalan arrived in 2016 and his first season was horrific. Manchester City ended up with no trophies upon his arrival. The English media, given their usual reputation obviously went in on the Spaniard. However, ever since that first season, it has all been about records for the Spaniard. It seems like he took such media claims personally as the media termed him as a failure.

Manchester City played Swansea away in the FA Cup round of 16. Pep Guardiola’s men won the game 1-3 as he shattered another record. This win took Manchester City to a total of 15 wins in all competitions. The last team to have such a record were Arsenal in the ’80s when they had a total of 14 wins. This is a career-best for the former Barcelona manager. In other news, this was also Pep’s 200th win in 268 Manchester City games. This win took the Spaniard’s win percentage to 74 percent, which is higher than the percentage he had with his famous Barcelona team.

This is not the only record the Catalan has shattered upon his arrival. Most away wins, the most home wins, most continuous wins in the Premier League are held by Pep Guardiola. Most goals scored in a single season, biggest goal difference and also the biggest points margin is his. The former Bayern Munich manager also has the highest points tally recorded in English history which is 100. No ever team in the league’s history has ever reached a century of points. It is with absolute ease, one can say that the Catalan coach has proved his critics wrong. He has gone out of his way to shatter almost every attacking record in the league. As of now, his Manchester City side looks comfortable and dangerous.
