Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman looks extremely happy with Lionel Messi as of now The Dutchman had nothing but praise for the Argentine after their massive win against Alaves. Lionel Messi had a fantastic game as he scored a brace to help his team get all three points. The magician has now scored 15 goals from 20 La Liga games. He now looks incomplete form and really prepared for the upcoming UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain.
The 33-year-old was always linked with a move away to other clubs ever since he handed in that transfer request last summer. The transfer request was denied by Barcelona and La Liga as an organization as the Argentine had a year left on his contract. However, as of now, he is nearing the end of that contract as it ends in the upcoming summer transfer window. There has been no reports or rumors about his renewal with Barcelona so far. A move away for Lionel Messi away from the Nou Camp looks inevitable.
However, Ronald Koeman has stated that Lionel Messi is ‘excited and happy’ at Barcelona. The former Everton coach made these claims after his team emphatically secured a 5-1 win over Alaves. The Dutchman claims that the talisman is well settled at Catalunya as of now. He is happy on and off the pitch. This could possibly result in a contract extension for the magician.
The 33-year-old has not yet made comments on his future. Hence, it is very much possible that he ends up staying at the Nou Camp after all. The 6 time Balon D’or winner has been heavily linked to the likes of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain. However, he has not made any sort of comments on the two teams or his potential move away.
