Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s Manchester United absolutely cruised the first leg of their Europa League fixture. They played away to La Liga giants, Real Sociedad. The Red Devils ended up winning the tie 0-4 as the players ended up with a comfortable result ahead of the second leg. Bruno Fernandes got a brace while Marcus Rashford and Daniel James got one goal each. The 20-time Premier League champions look solid and could very well go on to win this competition.
Manchester United to finally win silverware?
Manchester United did not have much confidence when they were drawn against Real Sociedad back when the draws were made. The La Liga side were in top form and on top of the table. However, last night’s performance was completely unexpected. The men in red are not exactly having the best run in the league or even in the cup competitions. However, Ole’s men looked to have turned up the heat last night as they hit the Spaniards for 4. The English giants absolutely dominated the game and they should have a green signal for the next round as it is very hard to make a comeback now.
The Premier League giants were expected to win the Europa League last season too. They looked strong and solid. However, they were knocked out by a very in form Sevilla. Obviously, it’s no news that Sevilla are absolutely fantastic in this competition. The Spaniards are in UCL now and it might be a clear-cut road to the trophy for the men in red this time. Especially since they have shown this kind of form now, they might very well go on to win this tie. United are way behind league leaders Manchester City now. If they were to bow out of the title race and focus on this competition, they could very well end up with some silverware this season.
