Manchester United legend Paul Scholes thinks that David De Gea is a problem at Manchester United. The former United star does not look satisfied with what the Spanish international has been putting up in terms of performances. The former England midfielder thinks that coach, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, has a huge problem at goal that needs to be addressed immediately if the Red Devils are to maintain some consistency. He also thinks that the coach needs to sign another major center back as the men in red continue to struggle with defensive problems.

Paul Scholes unhappy with David De Gea

The Manchester United legendary number 8 strictly believes that David De Gea is a ‘real problem’ at the club. The former United star looks to be frustrated with the casualties taking place in the defensive area for Manchester United.

I think that they’re missing a real dominant centre-back.” Source – BTSport (via Goal)

The Red Devils hosted Newcastle United at a late fixture on Sunday. Ole’s men ended up winning the tie 3-1. However, they failed to keep another clean sheet as they conceded the equalizer right after they went ahead in the 30th minute. Scholes looked to be frustrated with the Spanish goalkeeper as he let in Allan Saint Maximin’s first-half strike in.

Scholes went on to criticize the United defense and De Gea.

Yeah, [the clean sheet record is] not good enough. David again, so sloppy, it’s becoming a real problem.”

Scholes also went on to highlight other areas that did impress him and kept his faith in the Red Devils. Manchester United have a solid attacking front after all, with Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, and Bruno Fernandes.

I don’t think we’re that far off at all.”

However, maybe it is time for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to explore the possibilities of playing Dean Henderson.
