Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not yet done with the title race yet. Despite Pep Guardiola’s men being 10 points clear at the top of the table, the United coach has refused to give up. The title race was just very close a month ago as Liverpool, Manchester City, and United looked to go head to head. City then pulled clear of everyone as both Klopp and Ole’s men dropped points casually. Guardiola is a perfectionist and it won’t be easy to catch up to them. However, the Norwegian believes that there is still hope for the Red Devils.

After Manchester United’s 3-3 draw against Everton a couple of weeks ago, Ole had stated that people should not talk about his team being contenders. He made references to the team’s recent past and suggested that they have improved and are in a better place as of now. He then mentioned that a year ago his team would not even be considered as title challengers. As of now, the men in red are 2nd in the table 10 points behind Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggests that the title race is far from over

After United’s comfortable home win against Newcastle United, the boss seemed to change his statements. As of now, he feels confident and he feels that his team can still win the race.

I am never going to say it’s done until it’s done, we have seen so many examples of teams that have hung in there, have kept working and have kept doing their own jobs.”

“Something might happen. It’s not something we think about – we just think about our own performances.”

“We have had a couple of setbacks in West Brom and Sheffield United where I can sit here and explain why we did not get the points we deserved but that’s not what I want to do. For me, the boys are really focused.” (via Goal)

The former Old Trafford legend is quite confident about his team. It looks like the Red Devils are refusing to concede the title to their city rivals as of now. If Manchester City do somehow drop points in the upcoming weeks, the race would be very much alive. Both United and Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City are huge contenders still, for the title. It does not look like it is going to be an easy ride for Pep’s men just yet.
