Tammy Abraham may be on his way out of Chelsea if the Blues continue to pursue Erling Haaland. The young English striker who has worked his way up from the Chelsea ranks feels like he will no longer be required at the club if they sign Haaland and thus he is not willing to extend his contract, as long as the club is linked with the Norwegian. Abraham has performed well above average after he broke through to the main team however, he has been largely inconsistent with large periods of goal droughts and thus new coach Thomas Tuchel, wants a new striker to fill in his role.

Currently, the West London side has two central strikers, Tammy Abraham, and Olivier Giroud. The club recently signed super striker, Timo Werner, but the German is usually played as a support striker rather than the number nine. Abraham was Frank Lampard’s choice but since the arrival of Tuchel, Giroud has been given the heads up more often. Thus, Abraham has already fallen down the pecking order, and should the Blues sign new sensation, Haaland, it would surely mean that the young Chelsea striker would be relegated to the bench for good.

Chelsea star will leave the club as he is unsure about his position at the club

According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old fears just that. He has been with the Chelsea system throughout his life and he had been on several loans before he could break into the star-studded team last season under the guidance of Lampard. However, the arrival of Haaland would undo all his progress and hard work and thus he will not be extending his stay with the club if they continue to bring more strikers in. Abraham was happy about the arrival of Werner as it would give him some competition but now bringing in Haaland will just end his career at Chelsea.

The player is still yet to enter his prime and he is taking the right decision in this situation. The Borussia Dortmund striker would undoubtedly turn Abraham into a bench warmer and thus to protect his own career, he should look for a move away. Nothing has been confirmed, however, and the best thing that the English player could do right now is to impress Tuchel so that the German realizes that there is no need to bring in Haaland and that they can just continue with Abraham.
