Manchester United face Serie A giants AC Milan in their UEFA Europa League round of 16 clash on Thursday. United is high on confidence after the derby win and looks to get a positive result against the Serie A side. Here is the possible lineup for The Red Devils.

1. The formation

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should continue with the 4-2-3-1 formation and the double pivot in midfield will provide extra stability to the side. The two midfielders will also provide a defensive shield in front of the back. The number 10 can have a more advanced role and provide more to the attackers during the transition.

2. Goalkeeper and the back four

David De Gea is still back in Spain, so Dean Henderson will take the spot. Henderson has been good lately and has been quite vocal and commanding. Eric Bailly should start alongside captain Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof can be rested for the game against West Ham. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the natural selection at right-back and Alex Telles can get a start ahead of in form Luke Shaw. The rotation will provide the rest to the English full-back.

3. The midfield trio

Fred and Scott Mctominay start in midfield with Bruno Fernandes upfront. Mctominay can make his occasional in behind runs and put pressure on the defenders. Fernandes will be creating chances for the attackers and can have the free role on the side. Fred and Mctominay will drift wide at times to help the full-backs during defending and can also be vital during set-pieces.

4. The front three

Marcus Rashford starts as the left midfielder and has been in great form this season. Daniel James can be preferred over Mason Greenwood as the right midfielder given his current form and Anthony Martial as the number nine. Martial was the man of the match against Manchester City.

Diogo Dalot will face his parent club and it will be a great affair for the neutrals. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury can be an advantage for the English side.
