AC Milan have shown their clear desire of signing on-loan Chelsea star on a permanent basis. The Chelsea youth academy graduate joined the Italian giants after struggling to find game time in his second season. His frustration pushed him to go on a loan away to another club rather than wasting away on the benches of Stamford Bridge. Fikayo Tomori has found his form once again with Milan and the club is very keen on making him a permanent player before his loan ends.

The 23-year-old center-back from England had a great season last season under Frank Lampard. He was regularly chosen in the first half of the season and he was passionate in the defense although not flawless. However, he was good enough to play frequently and who can forget his stunning debut goal against Wolves. Thus it was quite surprising when Lampard decided to freeze him out of the team altogether. It was quite a drastic step that hurt Tomori and his career and thus the defender chose to move to Milan for a while.

AC Milan Vice President wants to keep Fikayo Tomori.

That may become a permanent deal now as the Vice President of the club has been very impressed by the youngster’s ability to adapt to the new league and the passion that he displays on the field. Tomori has become one of Stefano Pioli’s regular starters and his performance grants him every game that he gets. The Vice President, Franco Baresi, said in an interview with  Gazzetta dello Sport,

We’ll do everything to sign him on a permanent deal.”

“Two months are remaining until the end of the season, and it’s not only up to Milan.”

“Tomori is imposing himself with talent and determination. He has shown no fear to play in a new league. Potentially, he can become a great champion. I hope he lives up to expectations.” – Source Goal

The Milan side has been doing quite well in the league this season and are in the second position, behind derby rivals, Inter Milan. The red side of Milan could still put up a fight for the Scudetto but Antonio Conte’s men already have a six points lead which could turn into a nine-point lead soon. Milan were also dumped out of the Europa League by Manchester United and that was quite a blow for Pioli’s men.

However, this season has been fruitful for them and they will be on the hunt for the title and European glory in the next season. Milan have finally woken up from a deep slumber and now they must find consistency to make greater use of their newfound form. We must wait and see what the giants will produce next season.
