The Premier League will be back this weekend after the international break. The business end of the Premier League always delivers huge entertainment and the race for the golden gloves is pretty much going on. Here are the top five goalkeepers in the league this season.

#1 Sam Johnstone – West Bromwich Albion

West Brom has conceded 57 goals in the league so far but the stats would have been far worse if not for their shot-stopper Sam Johnstone. The former Manchester United goalkeeper has been good for West Brom this season and single-handedly won crucial points for his side. Johnstone was world-class against Manchester City and earned his side a crucial point against the league leaders. Johnstone has the joint highest saves per match in the league this season.

#2 Kasper Schmeichel – Leicester City

The Leicester City shot-stopper has kept 10 clean sheets so far this season in the Premier League. The Foxes have conceded 32 goals in the league and are sitting at 3rd spot and will be hoping to get a UEFA Champions League spot for next season. Schmeichel has been very consistent this season and his shot-stopping has been good.



#3 Edouard Mendy – Chelsea

Chelsea has conceded 25 goals in the league so far and only Manchester City has conceded less. The Chelsea goalkeeper has kept 14 clean sheets in the league this season and is certainly looking to win the golden gloves this season. Mendy has been good this season and dropped good performances at Old Trafford and against Atletico Madrid.

#4 Emiliano Martinez – Aston Villa

Emiliano Martinez is arguably the best goalkeeper in Premier League this season. The Aston Villa man has been excellent this season and won many crucial points for his side. The former Arsenal goalkeeper has kept 14 clean sheets in the league and is certainly in the race for the golden gloves. Martinez has an average of 3.5 saves per game stats this season.

#5 Ederson Moraes – Manchester City

Manchester City has conceded the least number of goals this season and kept the most number of clean sheets this season. The Manchester City number one has been very good this season and may likely become the number one for Brazil ahead of Alisson who has been in bad form lately. Ederson is the favorite to win the golden gloves this season and City’s defense has been very solid this season.
