Sergio Aguero has been Manchester City’s most deadly player for quite a few seasons. He has had some memorable moments with the club and it is extremely sad to see him leave. However, the show must go on for the Sky Blues and now they must find an equally competent goal scorer to replace the veteran striker.
It will be tough to replace a striker of his caliber but Pep Guardiola does have a few options open to him. Here are the three players who could potentially replace Aguero at Manchester City:
#1 Gabriel Jesus- Manchester City
The easiest way to replace Aguero would be to just play with the striker that they currently have. The Brazilian did not get many chances when the Argentine was in his prime however, he has been more involved with the team for the past couple of seasons due to Aguero’s injuries.
Jesus is a fast player who tends to find himself in a good position and even outpacing the defenders quite often. He can be used as a traditional striker or a false nine and Pep prefers to play him as a false nine. His finishing could use a little bit of an improvement but he is only 23 years of age and is yet to hit his prime. Guardiola has been training him for a few years and now it could finally be his time to shine on the big stage and replace Aguero as the greatest goal scorer at Manchester City.
