Chelsea did well to bounce back from a shock defeat against West Brom by defeating Crystal Palace 4-1. The Blues were dominant throughout the game and the manager, Thomas Tuchel, was extremely proud of the team as this was exactly the kind of response that they needed. The team showed the class difference in the first 30 minutes where they managed to get a 3-0 lead.
Chelsea slowed down their momentum after that and allowed Palace to get a goal back but then they restored their lead almost immediately. The London side are still in fifth place but they are hoping to secure a UEFA Champions League spot when they face West Ham. However, for now, let us take a look at the three talking points from their dominant display against the Eagles.
#1 Captain America showing his true colors
Christian Pulisic had a lot of impact on Chelsea during the ending of the last season. His crucial goals during the last few games were crucial for the Blues as they helped them secure a Champions League spot. This season he was not that impactful as he suffered a lot from injuries however, it looks like he is back in a big way and is ready to help his team qualify for next season’s top European competition.
Pulisic was absolutely brilliant against Palace and got a brace to help his team get the victory. He was motivated and had a lot of work rate throughout the game. The player was not selfish and played a lot of link-up play however when he did get the chance to finish, he buried the ball at the back of the net. This one one of his strongest performances this season.
