Manchester United traveled to London to face Tottenham Hotspurs and went home with all three points courtesy of goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani, and Mason Greenwood. Cavani opened the scoring for United but the goal was disallowed after a foul on Heung-min Son. Son broke the deadlock a few minutes later but Manchester United came out on top in the second half.

The Red Devils extend their unbeaten away run in the league and are now 11 points behind league leaders Manchester City with a game in hand. Here are the three talking points from the game.

#1 Solid performance from Dean Henderson

David De Gea is finding it difficult to start games in the league ahead of Dean Henderson currently. The English man was top of his game today and made few important saves against the Spurs. Henderson’s starting position has been very good in the game and he did his sweeping duties pretty well. The Manchester-born goalkeeper is likely to stay United’s number one for the rest of the season and has been in fine form this season.

#2 Paul Pogba dictates the game

Paul Pogba dropped a world-class performance against his former boss’s side. The Frenchman had 23 passes in the final third and assisted Fred for the equalizer. Pogba was very solid with his hold-up play and took out on defenders and constantly swapped wings with Marcus Rashford. Manchester United’s season depends a lot on Pogba’s form and fitness.

#3 Edinson Cavani with a solid display

Edinson Cavani’s first goal was ruled out by the referee but the Uruguayan scored the winner in the game. Cavani headed home from a sublime cross from Mason Greenwood and gave United the lead in the game. Cavani’s off-the-ball movement was fantastic along with his work rate.

Manchester United can close the gap to 8 points if they win their next game and it just might open the title race again. The team needs to find consistency in their game.
