Manchester United registered their fifth straight win in the Premier League since January 2019. United are 8 points behind leaders Manchester City in the league with 6 games in hand. United hosted Burnley at Old Trafford and won this fixture at home for the first time since 2015.

Mason Greenwood opened the scoring for Manchester United but Burnley found their equalizer in no time with a header from James Tarkowski but Greenwood scored the winner and Edinson Cavani scored the all-important insurance goal. Burnley has scored a second-half goal for the first time in 8 games. Here are the three talking points from the game.

#1 Mason Greenwood is a man in form

Mason Greenwood has equaled Wayne Rooney’s record for scoring the most number of goals in the Premier League as a teenager. Greenwood opened the scoring for Manchester United and scored the winner in the game. The teenager has scored 4 goals in his last three Premier League games. Mason Greenwood is a man in form and has been brilliant with his finishing. The19-year-old struggled with his form at the start of this season but he is back in business for the Red Devils.

#2 Brilliant display from the midfield duo

The midfield duo of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba was top of their game and heavily involved. Fernandes did the dummy run and set up Greenwood for the sitter and Paul Pogba assisted the second goal for Mason Greenwood. Both Bruno and Pogba were heavily involved in both attacking and defensive duties in the game. Manchester United are hoping to keep their Frenchman beyond this season.

#3 Edinson Cavani continues to fire in front of the goal

The El Matador has now scored three goals in his last three games. Cavani scored the winner against Tottenham Hotspurs, the opener against Granada CF, and the insurance goal against Burnley. The fitness and work rate of the number nine is unreal and United has lacked such a forward for a long time.
